Pilot walks away from light plane crash in eastern Franklin County today

The
pilot of an ultra-light airplane walked away and did not need an
ambulance today when his aircraft struck a high-tension powerline by Old
Hwy. 100, about 3.5 miles south of Labadie, in eastern Franklin County.

Today is court day in the civil trial in which New Florence neighbors sued the Montgomery County Commission over the Commission's approval of the MAR-PARK drag strip.  Even though the neighbors were not directly suing MAR-PARK, a few weeks ago MAR-PARK joined the suit as a co-defendant with the County Commissioners.  The trial is being held in the court of Judge Keith Sutherland.  During breaks, CNL will post updates on the progress of the trial today.
